The Tom Lindsay Trio

  • Tom Lindsay - Piano and Vocals
  • Tom Moore - Bass
  • Ric Yarborough - Drums

My own trio of piano/vocals, bass and drums, where I'm able to enjoy playing piano and singing together. The repertoire contains swinging and funky arrangements of all sorts, from jazz standards to my own originals, and even tunes from artists like Radiohead and Coldplay.

I'm currently writing more material to go towards an album and some live dates around the Midlands, and maybe further afield - watch this space.

In the meantime, enjoy the audio from our first live date! New tracks will get posted on facebook and Twitter (as well as here), so make sure you're following me - with even more social networking links at the bottom of the page.

Plunk (working title)

A project in its early stages of writing...which will become a band aiming for a jazz/funk/soul sound, influenced by artists like Donny Hathaway, Tower of Power, Jamiroquai, Marcus Miller, Roy Hargrove, Snarky Puppy...

Expect to hear something of this in 2014!

The Ric Yarborough Trio

A second year student at Birmingham Conservatoire, Ric has always been fascinated by the integration of different styles of music. His trio is therefore built around the concept of fusing jazz with other genres including hip hop, gospel, folk and classical music.

As a drummer Ric is very interested in the rhythmic aspect of music, and this is the main focus of the group. The repertoire includes plenty of material involving obscure time signatures and cross rhythms, giving the trio an extremely contemporary sound. His main influences are Robert Glasper, Avishai Cohen, and Gwilym Simcock.

  • Alicia Gardener-Trejo - Tenor Saxophone
  • Nick Dewhurst - Trumpet
  • Tom Lindsay - Piano
  • Alex Phillips - Bass
  • Ric Yarborough - Drums

Alicia Gardener-Trejo's Benny Golson Project

Paying tribute to the music of Benny Golson, Alicia's group examines the repertoire of the great composer and arranger.

The five piece group has attempted to mimic the technique applied to Golson's album Take a Number from 1 to 10, which begins with a solo performance from Golson and adds a new musician with each successive track.
